Introduction

Before you begin this WebQuest, it is important you know and understand what a biome is. A biome is one of the world's major ecological communities, and it contains plants and animals which have adapted to survive in that particular region.

The biomes of the world are:

• Desert

• Grassland

• Tundra

• Aquatic

  • Freshwater

  • Marine

• Forests:

  • Boreal (also known as the Taiga)

  • Deciduous

  • Rainforests (Tropical or Temperate)
